### 01 Situation

A 45-year-old marketing manager from Basel suffered a **whiplash injury** with severe pain after an accident. Her family doctor recommended a four-week sick leave, but was unable to continue with her recovery.

The patient contacted the doctor, who developed an individual solution to enable a quick and gradual return to work .

 

### 03 Partial ability to work

Instead of missing four weeks of work completely, the patient was **gradually reintegrated**:

- **Week 1:** 0% fit for work
- **Week 2:** 50% fit for work (home office)
- **Week 3:** 100% fit for work (return to the workplace)
