### 01 Situation

A 28-year-old project manager from the construction industry in Bern suffered **an ankle injury** during a football match. As a key person in charge of a construction site with eight employees, his quick return to work was crucial to the success of the project.

After his accident, the patient received direct care. The injury was treated conservatively. Targeted aftercare with **physiotherapy** as prevention was organized at an early stage.

 

### 03 Partial ability to work

The employee's reintegration was staggered to enable a quick and safe return to work:

- **Week 1-2:** 10% able to work (remotely via video call and telephone)
- **Week 3-4:** 50% fit for work (back on site at the construction site with crutches)
- **Week 5-6:** 70% fit for work (with splinting)

### 04 Results

- **Better project management:** the employee was able to return to productive work significantly earlier
- **Significant cost savings for the company:** CHF 10,920 - CHF 18,200
- **Reduction in absences:** by a total of 18 days
