### 01 Situation

A **production manager from the MedTech industry** in Bern suffered a **torn cruciate ligament in his right knee** in an accident. Despite inconspicuous initial treatment in hospital, the tear was quickly diagnosed by an MRI.

 

### 02 Solution

The doctor accelerated the diagnosis and treatment by around **10 days**. Thanks to targeted treatment and close cooperation with the employer and the patient, the employee was able to **return to part-time work** just **two weeks after the operation**.

 

### 03 Partial ability to work

After the accident, the employee was able to quickly regain his ability to work thanks to rapid rehabilitation:

- **Week 1:** 0% fit for work
- **From week 2:** part-time employment (approx. 50% based on 11 additional working days in 21 fewer days of absence)

### 04 Results

- **Savings for the company:** Between CHF 12,600 and 21,000 (direct and indirect costs)
- **Reduction in days of absence:** 21 days
