The diagnosis confirmed the suspicion of acute appendicitis, whereupon an operation was performed on the same day. Due to her physical activity as a cleaner, she was put on full sick leave for two weeks.   --- ### 02 Solution After two weeks of complete incapacity for work, the doctor consulted with the patient and the employer. The aim was an early return to work without any health risks. Together, a 50% workload was agreed for the third week - without heavy lifting or pulling movements.   --- ### 03 Partial ability to work Thanks to the targeted adjustments, the cleaner was able to gradually return to work: - **Week 1 & 2:** 0% fit for work - **Week 3:** 50% able to work (adapted activity without lifting, e.g. dusting, window cleaning at handle height, replenishing consumables) - **From week 4:** 100% fit for work --- ### 04 Results - **Better project management:** In the third week, the patient was able to carry out cleaning work without lifting and thus make a productive contribution to the company - **Significant cost savings:** CHF 12,000 - CHF 20,000 for the company - **Reduction in absences:** by a total of 20 days --- ### 05 Share success story This case study shows how medical support in close coordination with the company can prevent relapses and at the same time enable rapid reintegration.
